I'm Ahead of the Curve

There was recently an article posted on the BYU Website about how Blogging can help prepare expecting parents to transition better. I thought I would just jump right ahead of the curve and get started now.

I feel more prepared to be a parent already.

All-Nighter Amanda!

Last night I pulled an all-nighter, for those of you older than 40--that's when you stay up all night, most likely due to partying, procrastination of homework, or a combination of both. If watching Boy Meets World all weekend, or my beloved 49ers losing by 3 points can be considered partying, then it was a combination of both for me as well.

Allison was kind enough to chat with me as I wrote my paper for World Civ. (It wasn't too bad only 3 pages, the problem was I hadn't started reading the book until 5pm the night before). We decided to become the worst Super Heroes Ever, she was 'Sometimes Mediocre Artistic Girl' whilst I became 'All-Nighter Amanda'. We have the lamest super powers ever, Allison (or should I say SMAG?) has the ability to draw just "okay" some of the time, while I have the ability to stay up all night, at least once a week.

The only powers I think of that could be worse would be the power to:

Cause Condensation,
Telekinetically Move One Sheet of Paper at a Time,
Type Silently,
Heat Up Hot Dogs with Hands,
Run Backwards without Looking,
Look Good in Camouflage (lets be honest, no one does),
Remove "Baby on Board Signs" or other Offensive Vehicular Decorations,
Know a Person's Astrological Sign by Touching Their Ankle or,
Recite Useless Facts that are Only Correct 50% of the Time

Oh wait, that last one is real! (And mine)

And yes, I just thought up all those super powers on my own.

PS- Allison drew a picture of our SuperHeroes (with her Super Powers, if she gives it to me, I can upload it.

TODAY IS OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

Just kidding, it's Monday.

Idiosyncrasy

I have some things that I do or did that I think I am ready to share with the world.

1. I used to read in the shower. You heard correctly, shower -not bath- it was a challenge, but I was so obsessed with reading that I couldn't put the books down! Ps- I was like 12... So I was weird, and get over it.

2. I am very clean in Public Restrooms. Now I know what you're thinking, good, that's what everyone does and germs are scary! Except, I don't do it for the germs (well I partly do it for the germs, cause they are disgusting) I do it for Oprah. Now let me explain. Oprah had Dr. Oz on her show once and they talked about public restrooms, and how to be properly clean and whatnot. On this episode they had put hidden camera's inside a public restroom, and they analyzed how clean every person was. Can you imagine if you didn't wash your hands and they caught you! That is why I keep clean, I always hear Oprah's voice in my head, watching me on a hidden camera...

3. I have to brush my teeth as soon as I wake up. I don't care if I'm planning on drinking orange juice in the morning... I will brush my teeth before that. I can't help myself.

4. I hate shower fans. I want to kill all shower fans, I'm a not sure why, but I do... can't stand 'em.

5. I laugh to myself all the time. I tell my own story to life inside my head all the time. I am an entertaining person... I shouldn't have to miss out on it, just because I'm supplying the entertainment.

6. I love laying on the floor or the ground. The ground is stable, unwavering, and unchanging... Short of an earthquake it doesn't move, and whenever I feel like my life is careening out of space, even in the slightest, I can just lay on the floor or the ground and see perspective and feel stable. Also I love looking at the sky and seeing clouds, birds, and stars.

7. I confuse the words funeral and wedding. All the time. It's Allison and John's Funeral, and my uncle's Wedding. It's just always confusing. I don't even think I know which is which anymore!

I'm Exploding BYU

Today I got hired for another job! Yay! One with actual hours where I don't have to wear a Bikini(Double Jeopardy!)! I went to sign up for it, and low and behold, you can only have 3 jobs on-campus. The Lady informed me that if she put in a fourth job into the computer, that the internet would explode. So ... no. Just a little collateral damage I say. Take the risk.
